Hand made Vanity unit Bathroom joinery.

Hand made Vanity unit Bathroom joinery.

I recently completed this hand made vanity unit for a customer in Staunton, Gloucestershire. They had already bought a double sink top from Kohler and had seen a similar design for a vanity unit on Pinterest. They emailed me  the picture of the design that they liked alongside a rough sketch of it as they wanted some things slightly different. I was then able to give them a price for it. Price agreed and I set to work on it. I’ve used a mixture of materials again on this job because it is being painted. With it being in a bathroom certain things needed to be taken into account such as moisture levels in a bathroom! the frontage of the unit and the 4 supporting posts are made from joinery grade redwood which will be durable over time. For the carcase of the unit and any superficial panels I’ve used weather and boil proof hardwood through out ply wood and faced any exposed edges with joinery grade redwood, this will work well in a bathroom with higher moisture levels than normal and with the edges being faced with redwood it will have a clean finish once painted. For the ironmongery I’ve used the same antique brass hinges and handles that use on most projects like this as they are a winner with my customers.
